Hot Honey Salmon Bites

  • Author: Simita
  • Total Time: 25Min
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Hot Honey Salmon Bites are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, featuring tender salmon pieces coated in a tangy chili-honey glaze. They’re quick to prepare, bursting with flavor, and make for a fantastic main dish or shareable appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 3 tablespoons honey (preferably raw or minimally processed)

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)

Instructions

  • Marinate: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, olive oil, chili flakes, smoked paprika (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Coat Salmon: Add the salmon cubes to the bowl and gently stir to coat each piece evenly. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes.

  • Preheat Oven: Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  • Arrange Salmon: Place the marinated salmon bites on the prepared sheet, making sure they’re spaced out and not overlapping. Reserve extra marinade for brushing if desired.

  • Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through. For an extra sticky glaze, brush the salmon bites with the reserved marinade in the last 2 minutes of baking.

  • Finish & Serve: Remove from the oven when the salmon is cooked through and slightly caramelized. Let them rest for a minute or two, then transfer to a serving platter.

Notes

  • Variations: Try adding minced fresh garlic or grated ginger to the marinade for extra zing. Swap the chili flakes for sriracha or gochujang for different spice profiles.

  • Tips: If you prefer pan-searing, cook the salmon bites in a hot skillet with a little oil until they develop a caramelized crust.

  • Allergies: This recipe contains soy sauce; substitute with a gluten-free tamari if avoiding gluten.

  • Taste Adjustments: If you like it sweeter, add an extra tablespoon of honey. For more heat, increase the chili flakes or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
